Wheelchair accessible routes via Google Maps

Google Maps is now providing wheelchair accessible routes in a few major cities. From what I’ve read, this service is not yet available in any major Canadian city (it’s only available in: London, New York, Tokyo, Mexico City, Boston, and Sydney); I’m sure our day will come. (People have been able to add accessibility information to locations via Google Maps for some time, but this is the first time people can request routes that are wheelchair accessible.)

I am excited to see how this unfolds for all of those individuals requiring such information! I’m sure that it will make travelling for people with accessibility issues easier.

If you require accessible routes, and you’re in a place that offers wheelchair accessible routes via Google Maps (it’s been live for a few days now), please let me know what you think about it by commenting below. Thanks!

Give your life the green light! It’s A Go!
